At the time that this World Book came out, this book was very exciting and new. It offered up new information about more of the world of Rifts Earth and served to fill in more details.The book's main focus and success is as an adventure for facing off against the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.As time has moved on and more World Books have come out, the book has become very dated. Looking back at this book, I have become rather disappointed with it.If you have never done the Four Horsemen Adventure and want their stats, this book is still useful. With all the new material out since, a group of players could now mop the floor with these guys. With more emphasis that has come out over the years favoring more and more technology, any new or existing magic pales.Yes there's new information on the Egyptian Gods and their minions for the Rifts setting. That's all very good. And the Phoenix Empire with its close ties to Atlantis. A new book to update their information would be good.There are seemingly lots of new O.C.C.s, many focuses on magic, but only if you believe can it effect you. The Mind Bleeder is still very decent. And lots of monsters and races that are characteristic of the African Continent. The final pages of the book provide a brief survey, overview of the continent that takes a stance that everything went back to being primitive and barely any, if no high tech survives.If you're new to Rifts and don't mind a book that offers a brief survey of Africa and the bare bones information to get started on the Phoenix Empire, Egyptian Gods and the Four Horsemen, then this book is still viable for that.Could it be possible to have a Rifts Africa Revised? Maybe. I'd be more for a new book that focuses on the Phoenix Empire or explore another part of the continent that was thought to be nothing but jungle. The possibilities exist for a revisit. As it sits. If you really want the book, consider a used copy or a sale on a new copy.
