Back in the 80's DC comics decided to wipe clean their universe and start over. Basically they wanted to remove their multiverse and after that reboot many of their characters and start fresh. All this was to make DC easier for new readers and dust off their main characters like Superman and give them a fresh coat of paint so to speak.During the Crisis on Infinite Earth mini series all parallel worlds were destroyed and all those characters from those Earths either were killed off or just reborn into the new made one Earth. Some notable exceptions The Superman and Lois Lane of Earth 2, The Superboy of Earth Prime and Alexander Luthor the son of Lex Luthor and Lois Lane of Earth 3, him being the only hero on that Earth, they went into a paradise dimension to live, and the Wonder Woman of Earth 2 and her husband Steve Trevor went to live with the gods. After that I believe the DC mandate for years were they were gone and the multiverse was never to be mentioned again. But now they revisit those left over characters from Earth 2, Prime and Earth 3 with them watching the new Earth and not being happy on how things on there were coming about, Alexander Luthor has plans to bring back the multiverse also Superboy has been slowly losing his mind in there. They escape the paradise dimension with Superman breaking out. But there is a twist to it, not wanting to give it away. I loved revisiting those characters I remember so fondly back when I actively collected comics in the 70's and 80's. And I always wondered if the multiverse characters in that pocket dimension would ever come back in story form. Overall a good read, like with any crossover event, you almost need to read some of the spill over titles to get what is happening with some of the characters, like Power Girl, but I really enjoyed this event, maybe just for nostalgia. The story I enjoyed and always I am a big fan of the artwork of George Perez, if you havent read Crisis on Infinite Earths I would recommend reading that first. Also maybe fine some of the crossover titles, the ones with Power Girl Infinite Crisis helped my enjoyment when reading that first. I for one loved adding this TPB to my collection.

This was my entry into DC Comics and comics in general back when it was first published in 05-06. There is a lot of history and bsckstory that, quite frankly, I had to read up on to make sense of some of the characters and events, but Geoff Johns does a great job of yelling you what you need to know to get through the book.I may be a little biased but I will always love this book because of how it allowed me to step into this wonderful world of comics.

It is the big-bang DC Comics saga: Infinite Crisis. Worlds live, worlds die and the DC Universe would never be the same!.This is the direct follow up for the 1985 Crisis on Infinite Earths, which I recommend to read before this particular book, otherwise you might get lost on the way.I got the hardcover of Infinite Crisis and I adbolutely adore it. The hardback have the same art as the dustjacket but without the letters. It is gorgeus!. Is very exiting if you have proper knolodge of the DC Universe. When I first got it I didn't understand squad, but when I got extra material I enjoyed heads over feet.If you want to get the story right I recomment you to read this:*Crisis on Infinite Earths*JLA Deluxe Edition 1*JLA Deluxe Edition 2*JLA Deluxe Edition 3*Identity Crisis*The OMAC Project*Day of Vengeance*Rann Thanagar War*Villais United*Crisis of Concience*INFINITE CRISISAll those books will give you background for the story, and some of them (such as the JLA ones) will feedback you on many characters you maybe don't know they exist. At the end all the books will make your reading worth. You'll see.I own the Absolute Crisis on Infinite Earths and is a magnificent example of how these amazongs editions should be made, and that got me thinking that it would be the COOLEST thing if DC make an Absolute Infinite Crisis. They can even make Alex Ross makes brand new art for the slipcase (just like Absolute C.O.I.E's) so they can match and promote to fans to get both editions. This is Infinite Crisis have so many beautiful spreads inside. Plus, Jim Lee made a few covers for the book and it would look great to have that on bigger pages (such as the Superboy Prime cover for one of the issues... PRICELESS!!).This is good reading. Get it.

This is an audacious book, to say the least. A direct sequel to the biggest crossover in the DC continuity, twenty years later. Once again bringing every meta human in the universe together to battle a universal threat. For me, it worked.I didn't read the companion books like The OMAC project, Rann Thanagar War etc but I think I got most storylines. It helped that is recently read Crisis on Infinite Earths, certainly. The best thing about the book for me was the deconstruction of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Their falling out was handled beautifully. I also loved that the 'villains' in the piece were the survivors - no, saviors - from the '85 book. I look forward to the (inevitable) return of Superboy Prime. The writing and art were both contemporary in style and above average. Some panels are so overwhelming, I'll be poring over them for some time to come. The homage to the cover of Action Comics #1 - it works so well :'(There were some amazing one liners and snappy comebacks I enjoyed greatly.("Let's face it... the last time you inspired anyone, was when you were dead" BURN!")Overall, this leaves the DC universe in a brave place. No Superman, Wonder Woman or batman for a year? Wow. 52 should be epic.Definitely a worthwhile, if overwhelming read. Perhaps if have enjoyed it more had I read it patiently, over several days.
