There are golden nuggets embedded in this story. Yes, there are characters, zany colorful ones, real ones, a storyline, real animals, and the setting of Colville, "a place not on the way to anywhere," which is somewhat true in real life. When the story is finished, I come away with little nuggets of wisdom, which makes a book something to look back on fondly. I take those nuggets on with me to my real places, real people and real animals. This, to me, is the sign of a book well-done. Enjoy finding the golden nuggets in this story.

This book is very insightful on what is is like to be an empath. I found it both affirming and therapeutic, as a disabled person who is an empath, animal nut, trained as a mental health therapist, and has struggled with depression. <3

I Wish You Happy is a heartfelt book, a story that exudes warmth and feelings. The characters in this book are quirky, genuine, and a bit tortured; they are all searching not only for their own happiness but also for the happiness of the people they love. Although parts of this book are very dark, there is also such a spirit of hope and optimism. I loved the relationships in this book...none of them easy....parents and children, husbands and wives, a blossoming love, and friendships...all of them portrayed with true emotions...anger, love, disappointment, affection, and passion.

I've read a lot of instant romance/fiction books because they are shallow and safe regarding emotions. But I'm fed up with them. So I picked up this, serious, book because it had a nice intro. I was worried about the suicide theme, that it might be weighting to read the book. On the contrary. The story is optimistic, full of hope and encouragement. It incites strength and self-esteem.This book is for all who think they don't fit in or don't have friends or are just a bit different than the "normal" person. For all who feel a lot.

This was A free Goodreads and Kindle giveaway. It is all about a nurse who takes a suicidal girl under her wing. The characters are kind of believable, the plot moves at a snails pace but it does give the reader yards and yards of hope. We can ALL use that!

I love this story and the way the author told it—from her unique phrasing to her humor for the many LOL moments to her capacity for authenticity in the many heart-opening times to the realistic inner journeys of her characters. I lost a couple of friends to suicide and wrote about it, too, so I really appreciated this point of view on a topic that touches far too many.

Wow, I have never read a novel like this. Such complex, deep characters, such balance, so real. I love how relationships between women are explored in such detail, which is rare in a world that puts so much focus on relationships between men and women. And the main character, Rae, really struck a chord with me, being far from a traditional woman, someone who is in touch with unspoken and often unseen things. A beautifully rich study of the human condition.

Such an important message shared within this story. We ALL matter. No one person is any more important or valuable than another. Taking care of our self is not selfish but rather absolutely essential to finding our own happiness and place in this world.
