I was unsure what to expect with this book as some of the reviews said it was too difficult and others said it was easy but none really told what level their child was at. I bought it for my son thinking that if it was too hard we would save it for a time down the road. As it turned out it was perfect for him. He is Six years old and has been taking piano for one year. He is very good at reading notes but is still learning to play both hands at the same time - I hope that gives some idea of what level he is playing at. The music has lots of sharps and flats in it but can be easily memorized as their are lots of repeats. The good thing about this music is that if your kid is a star wars fan and is familiar with the music the memorization should be easy and they can use their ear to sound it out.

Overall, I love this book and the concept behind it, and so does my son. However a few of the songs were hard to recognize once simplified enough to fit the concept of the book (each hand had 5 notes and that's it.) It is better once you add the optional teacher/parent part, so I think I just need to brush up on my own piano skills. Anyway, a great way to motivate beginning piano students who are Star Wars fans!

I purchased several copies of this book for my piano students. It worked perfectly for my beginner students who are on levels 1B or 2 in their lesson books. I looked through several other Star Wars Books, but they were too challenging. This one appears to be just right for several of my students. They are loving it! I highly recommend this book. Students are able to get the timing correct, and even the irregular finger patterns. These fun songs help them in their motivation to practice.

My six year old is just learning the piano and LOVES all things Star Wars. This has been a great way to introduce him to the piano and hold his interest. I would fully recommend this if you can handle humming Star Wars all day long.

There is another 5-finger book of Star Wars songs that basically has the left hand copy what the right hand plays. It's not easy for beginners. This is the best for beginners I've found. My students will love playing these songs.

My daughter loves using this in her beginners piano lessons. She is definitely more motivated to practice the piano when she has music that seems fun to her. Great compilation and fun for beginners.

I really enjoy listening to the Luke and Leia theme song when making dinner. Begone Bach and Motzart.

Not an easy beginner book.
