So many feels! I literally had no intentions on reading Cinder & Ella, the cover kind of threw me off I didn't really care for it, and I know shame on me for judging a book by its cover BUT give me some credit I did eventually buy it thanks to not being able to escape the book ... I swear for a month after I came across Cinder & Ella I kept seeing it everywhere so I bought it and loved it so very much. I was laughing and smiling and there were tears (I'm one of those weird people that just doesn't cry over books and this book was the first one to ever bring that out of me) I was just a bag full of emotions while reading it and even now I'm having issues putting coherent thoughts together.Ella has been through hell and we are thrown right into it. Ella and her mother get in a car accident, one that ends up killing her mom and disabling Ella along with most of her body suffering from burns from the accident. I felt for her so much, I was so angry for her and sad and happy, everything she felt, I felt. There is a lot of pretty heavy topics touched in the book such as bullying, depression, divorce, death and much more.Cinder Brian this guy! He was just an all around awesome best friend to Ella. Totally swoon worthy. He is famous, a heartthrob but he has his own problems, he isn't in control of his own life and thanks to the dual point of view it was easy to connect with him as well. Oh and the guy reads! Yes he met Ella on her book and movie review blog so believe me when I say he easy to fall in love with. Then there was her family, her new family. After her mom passed away she had to move in with her dad who abandoned her when she was just a little girl. Believe me when I say you will hate him for majority of the book, there is so much I want to say but I think it will be spoilerish and remove the shock factor. There is also the "evil" step sisters, although one eventually came around while the other was truly a nasty piece of work. As for the step-mom, you can tell she had good intentions she was just rather clueless on how to go about it. Even though things were pretty bad in the beginning I like how it all worked out in the end for everyone involved in that household.Overall Cinder & Ella is a perfect in-between book. It's a fast paced read, it dug deep while still being a fun read with all the stuff that just makes you feel good while reading an incredibly amazing book.

I couldn't believe it when I saw how many 5 star reviews Cinder & Ella had and now I know why because this NA book was amazing. This is a sweet and not your usual fairy tale. It is a story of indescribable friendship, intense love, showing strength in the face of tragedy, and the acceptance of disabilities. This is my first book by Kelly Oram and it will not be my last.Brian aka Cinder is a famous, closest bookworm, and famous Hollywood actor. He "meets" Ella, online 3 years ago through her book blog. The banter between them is adorable. Brian keeps his identity secret because he doesn't want to pull her into his crazy world and because he loves that she treats him as Brian and not a star. I loved loved loved Brian. He was so romantic. He had his strengths, be he also had his flaws. Ella is a strong character who has been through so much. She lost her mom in an accident and moved across country with her father, and man who left her when she was 8 years-old, and his family. Ella is left with a limp and scars, something that she was learning to deal with. I enjoyed watching her evolve as a character - trying to embrace her new reality - dealing with bullying at school, not so great family dynamics, making friends, etc. The two of them are so good together, but it was a long journey to get to their HEA. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters in the book - even Ana. This is book 1 in the Cinder and Ella duet, but it does not end in a cliffhanger. Book 2, Happily Ever After has already been released.*This book does touch upon bullying and mental health issues of suicide and depression.

Normally I stay away from "new adult" books. Being 18 once was more than enough for me! And I REALLY don't like "imaginative retellings" of classic stories or fairy tales, which I thought this might be. Am I ever glad that I read the description and many reviews and ignored my usual grumpy self enough to buy this book.Yes Cinder and Ella are young, but what happens to them both, fame for him, tragedy for her, make them both grow up harder and faster than either could expect, and mature beyond their physical years. None of the steps in the stages of their "relationship" with each other, or with any of the people around them seem false, and the revelations that come out every so often are astonishing and sometimes unexpected, but always true to the characters. (They seem that way, but then again I have never had Hollywood fame nor have I attended a "prestigious" private school, so maybe not. But it all seems extremely plausible to me!) A good book to read if you need a good sad and happy cry or two--or five.

I am a huge reader, it's my go to for down time so I can read 6 to 8 books a week. I love books, I read many books but there are only a few I go back to multiple times such as 'Pride and Prejudice' for a Classic and 'The Mark of the Lion Series' by Francine Rivers for a historical heart wrenching journey of slaves and gladiators but I believe this book just made the cut for me.This is one of those reads that will stay with you in your minds for days or weeks to come but live in your heart forever. The raw emotion of human nature and struggles, both the positive and the negative sides of it, are written with such a quiet strength that they both melt and break your heart.Ella's story sprung from me a combination of smiles, laughter, tears and that tightness in your chest where it swells from anger, rage and pain for the journey she has and still was taking. I loved this story and I won't ruin it with any details but I will agree with Ella and say, Ella is the true hero of the book, not the prince (or in this case the Hollywood star)! This is definitely going on my rather short list of 'to re-read' all time favourites.
